Artificial Intelligence: A Tool, Not Wisdom
AI is only a kind of mechanism. You are doing it with your brain. All knowledge of AI is borrowed from the human mind. You can train AI with certain data, but nothing in this world can do better than the human mind.
AI can be intelligent, but it cannot beat wisdom. Human intelligence is boundless, but AI has its limitations. This unique quality of intelligence differentiates us from AI.
The cost of AI growth is sky-high. AI also brings additional dangers with its growth. This bubble will burst after some time. AI has moved from pilots to large-scale use inside companies. The next big gaps are in application and protection against future threats.
The issue is not talent; it is timing. Specialized talent takes time to build. But this may not be the case two years later. Dissenting voices against AI are getting louder. I think it is not possible to stop it now, but we must develop solutions to control AI systems.
AI is useful on some platforms because it processes data at a scale impossible for humans to manage. It can do operations with smaller teams. But at the same time, 60% of acquisitions fail to deliver expected results from AI. When human supervision breaks down and AI agents run the firm, who will pay tax? Many people may lose their jobs. AI-driven reshuffling of senior management is also possible.
Actually, it is not the replacement of human capital, but the replacement of human capital with financial capital. Banks also expect to improve their income ratio. Due to the increasing risk in the financial system, a new battle between the human mind and AI will start.
India has nearly 40,000 unfilled cybersecurity jobs. AI equipment and technology for these data centres are doing well for now, but how long will AI take to succeed between mega data centres and rising talent needs?
Actually, AI is a lazy way out to do work quickly. On the other hand, job cuts would drive productivity improvements and raise income per employee by about 20% by 2028. But this uncontrolled potentiality of AI can be harmful for humanity.
We must improve the security system of AI before releasing it in public. No doubt, there is a sharp jump in productivity enabled by AI. A task that takes four hours can be completed in 15 minutes by AI. India is the second-largest user base for cloud AI.
Technology has always been meant as a tool for humans. But today, suddenly, we are looking at technology as a colleague. This is creating a gap between AI ambitions and execution.
If you look at AI evolution, it is going to reimagine the way work is being done. It has already begun restructuring task execution. It will have a direct impact on companies’ cost structures.
India’s greatest opportunity is not in building AI models, but in developing domain-specific applications. AI infrastructure should be viewed as a long-term strategic investment.
